Castor oil yields monomers with ten or eleven carbon atoms, the basis of technical polyamides that are lightweight, flexible and chemical-resistant. We source fully or partially bio-based grades.

What does "bio-based" mean for a polyamide?
It means its monomers come from a plant, in this case the castor plant. PA 11 and PA 10.10 are fully bio-based, PA 6.10 about 60%. The producer's technical data sheet gives the exact share.
